Front-End Web Developer / Designer
Gorilla is seeking an HTML programmer/Front-End Web Developer. The winning Web Developer will be responsible for implementing website front-ends, extending established design layouts to sublevel pages and ancillary screens and implementing client side behavior using javascript. The position requires a true 'Front End Developer'. Successful applicants will be able to work in technical environments like ATG, Endeca, Magento, Sitecore, ASPX and JSP to create dynamic website pages.
Responsibilities
- Develop website stylesheets to guide application programmers for implementing website pages.
- Create website page templates to "jump start" page development by application programmers.
- Implement scripting code using technologies such as JSP, ASPX, PHP, etc.
- Work with Gorilla's designers to realize design vision in Gorilla's custom websites.
- Work with application developers to facilitate the development of custom website development.
- Some development using client side technologies like Flash, ActionScript, etc.
- Convert production Photoshop documents into HTML page templates
- Help manage the design process, drive decisions, and coordinate efforts with fellow Gorillas.
Requirements
- Significant experience working with Photoshop, CSS, DHTML and JavaScript (including JavaScript frameworks/libraries like jQuery, etc.).
- Some experience programming with Flash.
- Solid experience in building website pages using CSS and DHTML (i.e. no 'table based' designs).
- Strong project and people management skills. Must be able to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor.
- A keen interest in emerging technologies and how they might impact future design decisions and strategic directions.
- An appreciation for good design and exquisite typography in almost any context.
- Back of the hand knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and standard business applications such as MS Office Suite, Powerpoint, etc.
Preferred
- Experience with eCommerce platforms (ATG, Magento) and the ability to be comfortable learning new technologies.
- Sitecore CMS experience
- Other animation / interactivity tools (Flex, others).
- SEO / SEM best practices
